South Fayette man charged with firing shot at township home

A South Fayette man was charged with three felony counts of aggravated assault after township police said he fired a shotgun at a house last week.
South Fayette Township police arrested Jacob W. Lowe, 20 of 6050 Springhouse Place, on March 13 and accused him of firing the shot earlier that morning.
Police were called to 2109 Toftrees Drive, a residence of Skye and Laura Dedi and their son, around 6 a.m. and found five pellet holes, one of which went through an upstairs window and four more in the drywall next to it. Police also found eight holes through a fence behind the residence.
After residents of the apartment building said they heard the shot, police talked to Lowe, who appeared to be intoxicated and allegedly admitted to accidentally shooting his 12-gauge shotgun when he was drinking with a friend, according to court documents. Police then collected the Mossberg “Maverick” Model 88 12-gauge shotgun.
Lowe was also charged with three counts of recklessly endangering another person, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, criminal mischief and underage drinking. He is free on $5,000 bond.
