BP students raise money for autism

In celebration of April as Autism Awareness Month, the students and staff at William Penn Elementary School in the Bethel Park School District raised $540 for the Autism Society of Pittsburgh, and in the process, created a beautiful bulletin board in their school’s entrance hallway. For every $1 donated, donors could write their names on a paper flower petal, which was then affixed to the bulletin board, creating five beautiful flowers under the slogan, “Growing Our Understanding.” Pictured are Vincent Staranko (left) and Tally Wright.
