A man was taken to a hospital after he wrecked his motorcycle into a wall off Center Church Road in Peters Township.

Police said they are investigating the Sept. 13 accident, which caused the road to be closed from about 2:40 to 3:20 p.m.

The wreck occurred as the motorcyclist, who was not identified, was traveling eastbound along a sharp bend in the road, and he crashed into a retaining wall along a home’s driveway.

A nearby resident who declined to be identified said that at least half a dozen serious accidents have occurred in the area in the past 12 years. Municipal officials have discussed reconfiguring the road in conjunction with the new Peters Township High School and a municipal park at the former Rolling Hills Country Club property, which abuts East McMurray and Center Church roads.
