State Rep. Natalie Mihalek, R-Upper St. Clair, said registration is now available for the Port Authority Senior Citizen ConnectCard at her district office, 3515 Washington Road, Suite 540, Peters Township.

The office is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and residents can stop in anytime during those hours to register.

Registration also can be made during Mihalek’s satellite office hours at the Schoolhouse Arts and History Center, 2600 South Park Road, Bethel Park, from 10 a.m. to noon every third Monday of the month.

The Senior Citizen ConnectCard permits adults ages 65 or older to ride for free on Port Authority vehicles, including buses, light rail and inclines, during all hours of operation. The ConnectCard is also accepted by other statewide transit agencies.

The new plastic ConnectCard is personalized with the holder’s name and photo to protect against fraud and to help sustain the free ride program. Registration for the ConnectCard is also free. The card will expire four years from the date of the applicant’s next birthday but can be renewed.

Residents who wish to register for the card, will need to bring valid proof-of-age documentation. Mihalek’s office can accept a photo driver’s license, Pennsylvania identification card, passport, PACE card, Armed Forces discharge/separation papers or a birth certificate.
