A bountiful harvest in Bethel Park
For more than two decades Bethel Park has shared its bounty through one of its biggest fundraisers.
This year was no different as the Bethel Park Community Foundation welcomed more than 300 guests at the annual Bethel’s Bounty held Nov. 3 at the Crown Plaza Hotel & Suites–Pittsburgh South.
More than 20 food and beverage vendors afforded patrons a taste of their best. The local eateries included: Eat ‘N Park, Pasta Too, JD Wine Cellars, Judy’s Java Join, Au “Grottens” Cafe & Catering, Toss Pizza, Deer Creek Winery, Bethel Bakery, Ches’ Anthony’s Catering, Inc. at Cool Springs, Ma & Pop’s Country Kitchen, Cyd West Comfort Catering, Food by Lyndsey, Dairy Queen, Mindful Brewing Co., Rice Inn, The Pie Place, Metz Culinary Management and Rowdy B.B.Q.
Nearly 60 prizes were raffled, including a 55-inch LG UHD TV and a lawn and garden equipment package that featured a Black & Decker cordless mower, leaf blower and trimmer set.
BPCF trustee Andy Amhrein served as emcee. Katie Hogue and John Carberry chaired the event.
Members of the Bethel Park National Honor Society served as ticket sellers and takers as well as waiters, busing tables.
Proceeds benefited The Bethel Park Community Foundation, which provides funding for projects and scholarships. Some of the foundation’s projects included: overseeing the Brick Campaign for the community center and raised $250,000 to fund furnishings for the interior, establishing the Tower Concert Series, providing grants to Tri-Community South EMS, the BP Historical Society, the volunteer fire department and The BP Friends of the Montour Trail. Last year, the group provided $25,000 to the Blackhawk Family Relief Fund that helped victims of seasonal flooding.
