School News: Week of Sept. 29

Bethel Park
• Bethel Park High School senior Lily Wilson was named September Rotary Student of the Month by the Rotary Club of Bethel Park.
Each month during the school year, Rotary Club recognizes a Bethel Park High School student for outstanding commitment to school and community service. Lily was recognized for her involvement at the high school, including serving as homecoming co-chairperson the past two years and student government president this year and her involvement with German Club, National Honor Society, high school orchestra and district wellness committee.
• The Bethel Park High School Marching Band Festival will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 5 at Bethel Park Stadium, 309 Church Road.
Participating in this year’s festival are bands from Avella Area, Belle Vernon Area and Canon-McMillan high schools, along with the Bethel Park High School Black Hawk Marching Band.
Tickets purchased in advance are $6 and will be $8 if purchased at the gate on the night of the festival. Children under age 4 are admitted for free. Tickets can be paid for with cash or check, payable to “Bethel Park Music Boosters.”
