Peters Township police, joined by the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, made four arrests after executing search warrants at two residences nearly simultaneously on the morning of Jan. 3.

Mark Anthony Painter, 33, of 320 Pleasant Ave. was charged with possession of a prohibited firearm and three possession-related offenses involving drugs, including intent to deliver a controlled substance.

At 906 Venetia Road, resident Derrick Nathan Bragg, 31, also was charged with possession with intent to deliver in addition to three other offenses.

According to the criminal complaint, police found Painter with a 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition affixed to it.

“A check of Painter’s criminal history revealed a felony conviction for the sale or transfer of a firearm,” the complaint states. “This charge carries a minimum of two years’ imprisonment, making Painter a convicted felon not to possess a firearm.”

Police said he also possessed four Mason jars containing a total of more than 30 grams of marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia.

Bragg was charged after officers discovered 24 small plastic bags containing marijuana, two digital scales and drug paraphernalia, according to the complaint.

Also arrested at the Venetia Road residence was Samantha Barbour, 26, who was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Christianna Dawn Painter, 35, of 320 Pleasant Ave. was charged possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use and possession of drug paraphernalia.
