Continuing education credits available at Disability and Mental Health Summit
More continuing education credits than ever before are now approved and available for the March 3 Disability and Mental Health Summit celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, state Rep. Dan Miller, D-Mt. Lebanon, announced.
“Our summit prides itself in offering the largest collection of disability and mental health resources for attendees,” Miller said, “and that includes helping professionals gain a greater understanding and skill set in relation to how such issues inform and impact their work.”
This year’s program, will take place at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center:
- 10 Act 48 credits for educators at no cost;
- 8 continuing legal education credits for attorneys at $1.50 per CLE;
- 10 continuing education units for rehabilitation counselors at no cost;
- 10 continuing education units for social workers for $10 total;
- 10 continuing education units (10 hours) for interpreters at no cost.
“For many people with a disability or mental health diagnosis, a trained professional is a necessity for basic life functions, but also for advancements in education, health care, employment, and in defense of their rights,” Miller said. “That’s why we prioritize offering continuing education credits at our summit and we look forward to everyone experiencing our complete program.”
