Mt. Lebanon Public Library hosts variety of programs
Events at Mt. Lebanon Public Library, 16 Castle Shannon Blvd., include:
• Slovak Heritage: “Summer School in Slovakia,”7 p.m. Feb. 3. Terezia Galikova will discuss her experiences attending summer language and culture classes at Cominius University in Bratislava. The program is open to everyone.
• Lebo History Night, 7 p.m. Feb. 4. The topic is “Teddy Roosevelt: President, Trust Buster, and Bull Moose Progressive. Facilitators Glenn Flickinger and Scott Moore are local history enthusiasts with expertise on a wide variety of topics.
• An Evening with Jonathan Putnam, 7 p.m. Feb. 5. A writer and attorney, Putnam is a nationally known trial lawyer and recognized Abraham Lincoln scholar. Jonathan has given talks about Lincoln for civic groups, bookstores, libraries and lawyer groups all across the country. Books in his Lincoln and Speed Mystery series include “Final Resting Place” (2018), “Perish from the Earth” (2017) and These Honored Dead (2016). At the library, he will discuss the fourth book in the series, “A House Divided,” which retells the story of the greatest unsolved murder mystery from Abraham Lincoln’s real-life law practice.
