Mt. Lebanon Plein Air Kids’ Paint-Out goes virtual

With current social distancing measures in place, The Mt. Lebanon Partnership has scheduled the annual Plein Air Kids’ Paint-Out for a virtual format.
Youngsters can create artwork from their own homes or yards and submit it online.
Submission must be on paper, maximum size 9 by 12 inches, but participants are welcome to use any materials they can find around the house, such as graphite pencils, markers, color pencils, paint and crayons. Plus nonart related items around the house can be used: cotton swabs for blending, paper clips for scratching, sponges for Impressionist effects, bubble wrap and even your own fingers.
The event is open to youngsters ages 3 to 18 years old who live in or attend school in the Mt. Lebanon community. All artwork must be photographed, and a high-resolution image must be submitted.
Submissions are accepted through May 24. People’s Choice online voting is June 1-5, and Judge’s Awards will be announced June 6.
Award age categories are 3 to 5, 6 to 8, 9 to 12 and 13 to 18. Winning artwork will be collected and displayed in the Mt. Lebanon Municipal Building
There is no fee to participate. For additional information on photographing your artwork for submission, visit mtlebopartnership.org/paint.
