Baptist Homes Society wellness team members achieve milestones

Baptist Homes Society recently said wellness director Fabiana Cheistwer has become one of the first graduates of the leadership in wellness management course offered through ICAA Education.
Cheistwer is in charge of wellness programming on both of Baptist Homes Society’s campuses, Baptist Homes in Mt. Lebanon and Providence Point in Scott Township, and she is now more equipped than ever to address the wellness needs of the organization’s older adults. Participating in the program allowed her specialized knowledge and techniques that bring a new level of expertise in her role.
“I will certainly be using a lot of the systems and knowledge I gained from the course,” Cheistwer said. “Our residents, our staff and my colleagues will benefit greatly from my learning, as will other LifeCare communities in the region as we set a new standard for leadership, management and evaluation standards in the Wellness field.”
The curriculum focuses on business management and leadership, with topics ranging from effective communication to creating and managing teams, performance evaluation and identifying key resources and technology.
Other members of the Baptist Homes Society wellness team have also achieved milestones this year.
Providence Point event planner Sarah Carini earned her master of business administration, and Providence Point fitness coordinator Caitlyn Lindhurst received her bachelor’s in exercise science.
ICAA Education Inc., International Council on Active Aging, develops and delivers courses designed to help active-aging professionals build the needed skills and knowledge to impact both older-adult wellness in all dimensions as well as the business bottom line.
