Upper St. Clair names assistant high school principal

A former Upper St. Clair High School soccer coach will return as an assistant principal.
Cara Senger, who served as the girls junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach in 2014, will join the high school administration this fall.
“I had the honor of working with young ladies that had a true passion to succeed on and off the field. These student athletes valued the commitment of not only representing themselves well, but they took pride in representing the Upper St. Clair School community in positive ways,” Senger said. “I look forward to the opportunity to work with the entire Upper St. Clair High School student body as an administrator in the district.”
For the past two years, Senger served as 9-12 mathematics coordinator for Pittsburgh Public Schools, overseeing all aspects of high school math curriculum and instruction. She has taught secondary math in the Pittsburgh Public and Canon McMillan school districts and at Seton-LaSalle Catholic High School.
“Ms. Senger will be a wonderful addition to our high school staff and leadership team. Her secondary teaching experience, coupled with her more recent district-level instructional leadership position, demonstrates the depth of her skills,” Timothy Wagner, Upper St. Clair High School principal, said. “In addition, Ms. Senger’s strong interpersonal skills will endear her to families and students, sustaining the critical connection between home and school.”
Senger holds a master’s degree in technology education from California University of Pennsylvania, a bachelor’s degree in secondary education/mathematics from Point Park University and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh.
