Upper St. Clair maintains real estate tax rate for 13th consecutive year

Upper St. Clair commissioners have approved the township’s 2022 budget with no tax increase, for the 13th consecutive year.
The real estate tax rate, 3.83 mills, has remained the same since 2010. The township’s earned income tax rate, 0.8%, has not changed since 2007.
ALCOSAN is scheduled to increase its billing rate for wastewater treatment by 7% in 2022. The township’s sewer rate multiplier will be reduced from 1.93 to 1.86.
“Upper St. Clair’s staff continues to focus on new ways to provide high levels of service and programming in the most financially responsible manner,” township manager Matthew Serakowski said.
The township again received two recognitions from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada during the year. The GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was received for the 33rd time. Also, the township received its 13th consecutive GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. Upper St. Clair is one of only seven municipalities in Pennsylvania to receive the award. The 2022 budget document continues to meet the GFOA’s award criteria.
