A Fort Couch Middle School student recently earned second place in the 2021 NASA Student Art Contest.

Eighth-grader Olivia Fuscaldo was one of 90 student artists recognized from among 773 entries nationwide.

First-, second- and third-place winners, as well as honorable mention in each grade level, were recognized. The theme for the 2021 art contest was “Virtually Everywhere,” which encouraged students to explore the ways NASA is all around them.

Olivia will receive a certificate as well as a NASA Exploration Package that includes posters, pens, stickers, patches and lapel pins.

The contest was open to U.S. students in kindergarten through grade 12. Submissions were accepted throughout December.
