A team of Upper St. Clair High School students recently won the Academic WorldQuest competition, sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg. Sophomores Keshav Narasimhan, Daniel Wang, Ben Wasson and team captain Qadir Khan advance to the national competition, scheduled for April 16-17.

Academic WorldQuest, a program of World Affairs Councils of America, is a fast-paced team competition for high school students that tests players’ knowledge of current international politics, geography, global economics, history and world cultures.

Since 2003, winning teams have traveled to Washington, D.C., every April to vie for the national championship.

The 2021 event will be held virtually. In addition to the competition, championship weekend will include unique programming to enhance the global education experience as well as an opportunity for students to meet and engage with nearly 250 like-minded peers from around the United States.

The Upper St. Clair High School team is coached by Pat Palazzolo, gifted education coordinator and sponsor of the high school’s World Affairs Club.
