Belmont Jewel event at St. Clair Country Club benefits Horses With Hope
The 153rd running of the Belmont Stakes will take place on the day of the second annual Belmont Jewel.
COVID-19 prevented the fundraiser benefiting Horses With Hope from taking place last year. But following a successful first event in 2019, the racing-themed gala returns June 5 at a new venue, St. Clair Country Club.
“Everybody has had a challenging year and a half, and this is such a great opportunity to get out and support a great cause,” said Kristin Huibregtse, president of the Horses With Hope board of directors.
The nonprofit organization offers therapeutic riding and other equine-assisted therapies, with its location in the process of transitioning to the Gilfillan Farm in Upper St. Clair. The Belmont Jewel is helping to raise money for a covered riding area at the farm.

Serving as emcee is comedian and broadcast personality Jim Krenn, best known for his 24-year run as host of the WDVE-FM morning show and later hosting his own show on Q 92.9-FM.
Current guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be observed.
