Scheduling events during the spring in Western Pennsylvania can be a tricky proposition, but state Sen. Devlin Robinson, R-Bridgeville, made the right call for the opening of his new South Hills office.

With the temperature already in the 70s and not a cloud in the sky, Robinson welcomed well-wishers Thursday morning as he cut the ceremonial ribbon outside of the building at 1700 N. Highland Road, at the Upper St. Clair-Bethel Park line and a short distance from Mt. Lebanon.

His office is in the newly remodeled Suite 307, which offers plenty of room for him and members of his staff – including Megan McCauley, Alicia McGhee, Joe Nagel and Alexis Trbovich – to greet visitors.

“I want to establish the reputation as being somebody who’s accessible and somebody who’s always going to work for the constituents and their community,” Robinson said. “So I really want to open up a two-way street with all the communities that I have in my district.”

The 37th Senatorial District dips into Washington County to include Peters Township, and in fact, the scissors that Robinson used to cut his ribbon were supplied by Brian Schill, Peters Township Chamber of Commerce executive director.

Allegheny County municipalities in the district are Aleppo Township, Bell Acres, Ben Avon Heights, Bethel Park, Bridgeville, Collier Township, Crescent Township, Edgeworth, Emsworth, Findlay Township, Glen Osborne, Glenfield, Haysville, Jefferson Hills, Kilbuck Township, Leetsdale, Leet Township, McDonald (Allegheny County portion), Moon Township, Mt. Lebanon, North Fayette Township, Oakdale, Ohio Township, Pennsbury Village, Pleasant Hills, Robinson Township, Rosslyn Farms, Sewickley, Sewickley Heights, Sewickley Hills, South Fayette Township, South Park Township, Thornburg, Upper St. Clair Township and Whitehall.

Robinson’s other regional office is at 200 Cedar Ridge Drive, Suite 206, in, appropriately enough, Robinson Township.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran and business owner, Robinson was elected to the Senate in November.
