Horror Realm convention ready for return to Bethel Park
Horror Realm’s annual convention returns Nov. 19-21 to the Crowne Plaza Hotel & Suites in Bethel Park with a guest list full of actors who have appeared in several modern horror franchise films.
The show typically is held in March, but was delayed this year because of COVID-19. The 2020 event took place the weekend before pandemic-related shutdowns began in Pennsylvania.
Heading the 2021 guest list is Danielle Harris, who plays Jamie Lloyd in “Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers” (1988) and “Halloween V: The Revenge of Michael Myers” (1989), and has the roles of Annie Brackett in “Halloween” (2007) and “Halloween II” (2009). She also portrays Marybeth Dunstan in the “Hatchet” series of films, and some of her fellow cast members are scheduled to appear at Horror Realm:

Guests will be available to meet fans, sign autographs and take photos all weekend, unless otherwise indicated. There will also be professional photo opportunities available on Saturday, including costumed CJ Graham as Jason and Judie Aronson on a raft re-creating a scene from “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.” Photo ops must be purchased in advance.
Show hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission prices are $40 for the full weekend, $20 for Friday, $25 for Saturday and $15 for Sunday. The convention features a large dealer room with vendors selling horror-themed merchandise such as DVDs, collectible figures, T-shirts, posters, jewelry and clothing; a film program; celebrity Q&A sessions; costume and tattoo contests: “Scareoke”; and a dance party with DJ.
This year’s convention is sponsored in part by Pop Culture Comics, a family-owned business in Pittsburgh with locations on Mt Royal Boulevard and McNeilly Road. The stores, founded in the 1980s, offer a variety of new and secondhand pop culture merchandise and comic books.
