Bethel Park plans Halloween activities

The municipality of Bethel Park is planning several community activities for Halloween.
Kicking off the celebration is the third annual Halloween decorating contest for Bethel Park residents, from Oct. 23-31. One winner will be selected per ward. To nominate a home or for more information, call 412-831-6800, ext. 211, or email jdavin@bethelpark.net.
The second annual Spooktacular Parade will start at 9 a.m. Oct. 30, once again featuring two parade routes with fire trucks, police cars, public works vehicles, a Tri-Community South EMS ambulance, antique cars and more, providing candy to kids of all ages.
“We did shorten this year’s parade routes a bit to accommodate parade participants and spectators,” municipal manager Laurence Christian said. “Last year’s parade ran around three hours. This year’s will be a bit shorter but equally fun for our residents.”
Parade routes will be posted on the Municipality of Bethel Park Facebook page and at www.bethelpark.net. The municipality also will feature a Facebook Live streaming of the parade.
Trick-or-treating is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.
