From Dec. 15-18, thousands of volunteers participated in the Wreaths Across America sponsored annual placement of Holiday wreaths on approximately 16,000 gravesites at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Cecil Township.

On the frigid morning of Jan. 22, all wreaths were removed from those gravesites by several hundred volunteers in just a few hours.

The Rotary Club of Bethel-St. Clair supported the cleanup event by providing more than a dozen volunteers, including Dick Beck, Rick and Marie Byrne, Mike Crossey, Anthony DeCecco, Ray Detig, Herman Dieckmann, Tim Donovan, Eric and Karen Pfiel, George Pitcairn, Sam Provil, and Mike Shook.

They were proud to participate in another hands-on Rotary service opportunity for honoring and remembering those who have served.
