Upper St. Clair Polar Plunge raises $6,300 for Children’s Hospital

In its inaugural year, the Upper St. Clair High School Polar Plunge raised $6,304.86 to benefit UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh through the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Led by the high school student council, the event featured students and staff members competing for the highest cumulative donation totals, with the top eight taking the “plunge.”

The top individual donor for each had the honor of pouring the bucket of ice water on his or her respective fundraiser:

  • Ben Brooks, $732; top donor, Kristen Albertini;
  • Emily Robbibaro, English teacher, $655; top donor, Victoria Crowley;
  • Marina Gzikowski, $525.30; top donor, John Tripodes;
  • Anna Hess, $505; top donor, Jessica Christensen;
  • Amanda Haas, math teacher, $454; top donor, Molly Maher;
  • Michael Barbarita, $420.06; top donor, Jack Dietrick;
  • Brady Bartusiak, $281; top donor, Sarah Christensen;
  • Mahesh Lakshminarayanan,

$257; top donor, Ben Tucker.
