Bridges closing

The Upper St. Clair Public Works Department will conduct an online meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. July 21 to discuss a project to replace Painters Run Bridge No. 3.

The bridge carries Painters Run Road and is located about 300 feet east of the road’s intersection with McMillan Road in Upper St. Clair.

The purpose of the meeting is to present the preliminary construction and traffic control plans as well as to obtain public input prior to completion of the project’s final design. Construction for this project is anticipated to begin in summer 2025.

Representatives from Allegheny County and design consultants will be answering questions and addressing concerns about the project.

Additionally, the Allegheny County Department of Public Works will close a bridge off of Corrigan Drive in South Park that provides vehicle and pedestrian access to Edgebrook Field and bocce ball courts.

The closure began at 9 a.m. July 11. It is expected to end in October. It is required for replacement of the bridge.

Drivers and pedestrians still will be able to reach Edgebrook Field and the bocce ball courts using a small access road off of Maple Springs Drive just east of the dog park.

During some construction operations, the walking path along Corrigan Drive will be restricted or closed at the work site for short periods of time.

Caution should be used in the area.
