Volunteers needed for Mt. Lebanon summer events
The Mt. Lebanon Recreation Department needs volunteers for its public safety camp and Club Lebo.
The camp, for boys and girls ages 9 to 12, runs from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 8-12. It is coordinated by the fire and police departments as well as the Medical Rescue Team South Authority.
Volunteers should be rising juniors or seniors, but 10th-graders may be considered on a case-by-case basis. They must be available all five days of camp.
Club Lebo is for grades 6 through 8.
Parents or high school students are needed as volunteers to ensure the event is a success.
Club Lebo will meet from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Mt. Lebanon pool.
Other events in September and October will be held Fridays from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in Mellon and Jefferson Middle Schools. Dates to be announced.
Adult volunteers who work with children are required by state law to have clearances.
Interested volunteers should call 412-343-3409 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.
