Upper St. Clair High School senior Phoebe Chen, a flutist, was selected via competitive audition for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association All-State Band.

Phoebe will attend PMEA’s 2022 All-State Festival and Annual In-Service Conference April 7-9 at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in the Poconos.

In addition, Phoebe joins two other Upper St. Clair students – Lauren Tenney, clarinet, and Ben Wasson, trombone – in being selected to participate in the PMEA Region I Band Festival. The event is set for March 11-12 at Mt. Lebanon High School.

The students receive music instruction from Dr. John Seybert, Upper St. Clair’s director of bands.

PMEA’s Region I encompasses schools from throughout western Pennsylvania, including Allegheny, Washington, Westmoreland, Greene, Fayette, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties.
