PMEA chorus festival includes 10 USC students

Ten Upper St. Clair High School students successfully auditioned to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Region 1 Chorus Festival.

Representing Upper St. Clair are senior Skyler Bruno, Alto 2; senior Kaitlyn Clougherty, Soprano 1; junior Ella Elkoni, Alto 1; junior Santina Guarino, Alto 2, second chair; junior Sia Iyer, Alto 2, first chair; senior Hannah James, Alto 1; junior Rebecca Lang, Soprano 1, fourth chair; sophomore Adam Levine, Bass 1, second chair; junior Edy McCurrie, Alto 2; and senior Hannah Rieger, Alto 1.

The students receive music instruction from Lorraine Milovac, Upper St. Clair High School choral director.

PMEA’s Region I Chorus Festival will be held March 24 and 25 at Butler Area Intermediate High School. PMEA’s Region I encompasses schools from throughout Western Pennsylvania, including Allegheny, Washington, Westmoreland, Greene, Fayette, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties.

PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization of more than 4,000 members, dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning and performance as well as promoting and supporting music education in schools and communities. PMEA is affiliated with the National Association for Music Education.
