Scholarship winners
For over 25 years, Dr. Gary Cartwright has awarded academic scholarships to four high school seniors to further educational pursuits by his past and present patients. Winners were based on submitted essays regarding what the students would like to study after high school. This year’s winners pictured with Cartwright are: (front) Cecelia Scott and Kayla Sauer; (back) Connor Hyde and Liam Hartman. The daughter of Richard and Abby Scott of Venetia, CeCe will attend Duquesne University and pursue physician assistant studies after graduating from Peters Township. The daughter of Matt and Denise Sauer of Washington, Sauer will attend Mercyhurst and study biology after graduating from Canon McMillan. The son of Jim and Patti Hyde of Canonsburg, Hyde will attend Davis and Elkins College and study elementary education. The son of Andrew and Kimberly Hartman of Bridgeville, Hartman will attend Robert Morris University and study industrial engineering after completing his studies at Lakeview Christian Academy.
