1 min read

Westminster Presbyterian Church in Upper St. Clair will host a series of speakers to address issues concerning mental health in teenagers and parents.

They will begin at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12 with former MLB player and Upper St. Clair resident Sean Casey. The event will take place in Fellowship Hall. The church is located at 2040 Washington Road.

The speaker series will continue on Nov. 9 with Ted Hoover, an educator with the Persad Center in Pittsburgh, and has worked with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Family Health on LGBTQ+ youth suicide prevention and creating safe work and education environments.

On Jan. 11, Westminster Presbyterian will host Dennis Gillan, who will talk about recovering from the suicide deaths of both of his brothers.

The final event will be a screening of the Ken Burns-narrated PBS documentary, “Hiding in Plain Sight: Youth Mental Illness” on Feb. 8.
