Mt. Lebanon has six national merit semifinalists

Six Mt. Lebanon High Seniors were selected as semifinalists in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Competition.
Among them were: Chase Dustevich, Amanda Green, Constantine Matros, Hayden Sinar, Amy Tan and Vishnu Venugopal
Based on the results of the PSAT, less than 1% of the 1.6 million students, who as juniors took the PSAT last fall from across the country, have been recognized as National Merit Semifinalists.
Each September, about 16,000 students, or approximately one-third of the 50,000 high scorers, are notified that they have qualified as semifinalists. To ensure that academically talented young people from all parts of the United States are included in this talent pool, semifinalists are designated on a state-representational basis.
All semifinalists are entered into the National Merit Scholarship awards program that connects students to almost $300 million in nationwide scholarships.
