Taylor wins third straight title

Sandahl Taylor became the first woman to be named Mrs. Pennsylvania Galaxy for the third consecutive year. She captured titles in 2021 and 2022 before again winning recently in 2023.

Taylor represented the state in the Galaxy International Pageant held Aug. 22-27 in Orlando, Fla.

The Galaxy Pageants mission is to emphasize beauty, style, and cultural appreciation as well as provide personal development opportunities for women of all nations. The pageant affords each delegate the opportunity to grow and advance personal and career goals while acting as a role model in her community.

Taylor, who lives in the South Hills, is a licensed cosmetology instructor/teacher. She is also a licensed cosmetologist and has an advanced cosmetology master educator certification.

“Heart Health At Any Age” became her platform after her veteran father suffered a heart attack and stroke, and she learned that she has a heart condition herself.

She is a military spouse, having married SSG Kenneth Taylor, a U.S. Army veteran, in 2015. The couple have two children, Blake and Anastasia.

Taylor has volunteered with the Veterans Leadership Program for seven years and provided free haircuts to veterans. She has also donated resources and time to the Salvation Army, Dress for Success, A.L.I.V.E Ministries, Light of Life, and Children’s Hospital.

Taylor has been the recipient of the Pittsburgh’s Celebrating Women Award, Empowering Women in Philanthropy, and Model of The Year, Directors Leadership Award as well as two congeniality awards. She has been nominated for Milady Educator of the Year, Athena and Pennsylvania Mother of the Year, 30 under 30 awards.
