Bethel Park to hold job fair
In an effort to help its local business community obtain a robust workforce, the Bethel Park Chamber and Municipality of Bethel Park will hold a job fair from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at the community center located at 5151 Park Ave.
“I really think there’s a need for this event,” said Bethel Park Municipal Council President Tim Moury. “Our business community has a lot of open positions, and this is a great opportunity for everyone, but particularly Bethel Park residents, to find a job.
Positions appropriate for school-age individuals to those currently employed looking for a new opportunity to retirees seeking something to do a few days a week or even more are available.
The job fair is free to attend for both employers and employees.
“We’re getting close to our limit of employers that we can accommodate,” said Bethel Park Chamber Director Connie Ruhl. “However, we’ll do our best to try and fit everyone in who’s interested in attending. We’re extremely happy with the range of positions that will be open for those looking for jobs.”
For job seekers, a variety of free resources will be available, including resume assistance, advice on setting up LinkedIn profiles, photos for LinkedIn or resumes, job search techniques, interviewing tips (in person and online), signups for free Bethel Park Library computer courses and on-the-job etiquette tips.
The Job Fair Steering Committee includes local business leaders, municipal officials and staff, Bethel Park School District representatives, and Bethel Park Library representatives.
“Those attending should bring resumes and be prepared to interview,” said Ruhl.
