Town Hall South announces lineup for 2023-24 season
Organizers of the Town Hall South speaker series have announced the lineup for the 2023-24 season.
Scheduled speakers are:
n Henry Winkler, who played Fonzie on the television series “Happy Days,” and is a prolific author of novels for adults and children, Tuesday, Oct. 3.
n Lynsey Addario, a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer who has covered every major conflict and humanitarian crisis of her generation, and spent most of 2022 on assignment for The New York Times in Ukraine, Tuesday, Nov. 7.
n Ruth Reichl, a onetime restaurant critic for The New York Times and Los Angeles Times, editor-in-chief for Gourmet Magazine, and host of Eating Out Loud” specials on The Food Network, Tuesday, Dec. 5.
n Kobie Boykins, lead principal engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024.
n Douglas Brinkley, an historian who has written books on Rachel Carson, Walter Cronkite, Jimmy Carter, Rosa Parks and more, Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
Town Hall South is a nonprofit organization that has been presenting a daytime lecture series to the South Hills community for over 50 years. It was started in 1969 as part of the outreach mission of Westminster Presbyterian Church. After each season, Town Hall South donates a significant portion of its net profits to local charities. Over the years, Town Hall South has hosted lectures by poet Maya Angelou, chef Anthony Bourdain, television journalist Peter Jennings and many others.
