Property tax rebate clinic set for March 9
A property tax/rent rebate clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 9 at the Bethel Park Public Library, located at 5100 W. Library Ave.
Conducted by the office of state Sen. Devlin Robinson, R-Bridgeville, the clinic is open to BP residents and other communities in the 37th District who would like assistance with their rebate application.
The Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is open to Pennsylvania residents ages 65 and older, widows or widowers ages 50 and over, or anyone 18 and older who is 100% disabled.
Income limits are $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 a year for renters. Only half of an individual’s Social Security is included in the limit calculations.
Those who attend the clinic should bring the following documents with them:
n Total Social Security/railroad retirement
n Proof of Supplemental Security Income or disability
n Proof of age for first-time filers (driver’s license or photo identification)
n 1099 pension, interest and dividend statements
n Proof of W-2 or other income if received
n Voided check showing routing and account number if you wish to have payment received by direct deposit
n For property owners, proof of taxes paid either stamped or signed by the tax collector
n For renters, rent certificate filled out and signed by landlord
