Upper St. Clair students picked for PMEA festival

Sixteen Upper St. Clair High School students were selected through competitive audition to participate in the 2023 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Region 1 Chorus Festival.

The following students will represent Upper St. Clair: sopranos Grace Kelly, Rebecca Lang and Reese Copenhaver; tenors Ella Elkoni, Phoebe Glunt, Opal Miller, Isabel Vilensky, Santina Guarino, Edy McCurry, Sia Iyer; tenors Colin Eccher, Greg Boughner and Noah Levine; basses Elliot Bruno, Owen Damon and John Marsh.

The PMEA Region 1 Chorus Festival will be held Feb. 23 and 24, 2023, at Pine-Richland High School. Dr. Ryan Keeling, director of choral activities at West Liberty University, will serve as guest conductor. Upper St. Clair students are led by Lorraine Milovac, music teacher and choral director.

PMEA Region 1 includes school districts from Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Mercer, Washington and Westmoreland counties.

PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization of more than 4,500 members, dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning and performance as well as promoting and supporting music education in schools and communities. PMEA is affiliated with The National Association for Music Education.
