Bethel Park kicks off Park & Play program

The municipality of Bethel Park kicks off season 2 of its “Park & Play” Program Saturday, June 17, with “Fitness & Fun for All” from 10 a.m. to noon at Village Green Park. Events for both children and adults will be held in 30-minute increments throughout the day.
Adults will be able to participate in “Total Body Boot Camp,” “Qigong,” “Yoga,” and “Tai Chi.” Kids’ sessions will include speed and agility drills, relay races and a variety of pickup games.

“Our first Park & Play season was such a success with thousands of individuals attending,” said Emily Skoczlas, Bethel Park Community Center director. “Based on that, we’re bringing the program back. We have even added a few new events to it. We hope that everyone can attend and bring their friends and family.”
Park & Play runs from through October and aims to offer free, fun programs for individuals of all ages while showcasing many of Bethel Park’s neighborhood parks.

n Summer Spectacular fireworks display, Friday, June 30, at 9:40 p.m. (five viewing areas some with food trucks)
n Band, “Identity Crisis,” Saturday, July 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Millennium Park.
n National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Miner’s Park.
n End of Summer Bash, Saturday, Aug. 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Simmons Park.
n Battle of the Bands, Saturday, Sept. 2, at Millennium Park.
n Star Party, Friday, Sept. 15, 7 p.m., at Millennium Park.
n Wine Festival, Saturday, Oct. 28, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Bethel Park Community Center.
