Upper St. Clair has nine PMEA honors band members

Nine Upper St. Clair High School musicians were selected to the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 1 Honors Band. The following students were selected via competitive audition:

n Elise Parrish, grade 11: Flute 2

n Lauren Tenney, grade 12: Clarinet 1 (1st Chair)

n Kiki Smith, grade 9: Clarinet 2

n Kaitlyn Burns, grade 9: Clarinet 3

n Sandro McFarland, grade 12: Tenor Saxophone

n Maria Khila, grade 11: Baritone Saxophone (1st Chair)

n Carlee Santel, grade 11: Trumpet 1

n Isaac Bernstein, grade 12: Percussion (1st Chair)

n Arman Kethavath, grade 10: Percussion (alternate)

The Honors Band Festival is set for Nov. 17-19 at North Hills Middle School.

The Upper St. Clair High School students are led by Dr. John Seybert, performing arts curriculum leader and director of high school bands.

PMEA District 1 encompasses Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties. District honors festival musicians have the opportunity to advance to Region, All State, Eastern Division and National NAfME groups.

PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning and performance as well as promoting and supporting music education in schools and communities.
