Balancing act

A chipmunk does a balancing act on a stem in an attempt to reach the seeds of a sunflower in a Bethel Park garden. From mid-September to late October is the busiest season for Eastern chipmunks, as they scurry around gathering nuts and seeds for their food storage chambers. Chipmunks typically hibernate from late October until the middle of March to avoid the harsh winter weather.
