Peters woman named site manager of new Washington County College Center

The Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) announced Friday the hiring of a site manager for its Washington County College Center.
Taking on the role will be Peters Township resident Kara Eltschlager. A press release from CCBC describes Eltschlager as having 10 years of experience in media and event planning.
“Kara is the perfect fit for this position,” Anitre Bell, assistant director of enrollment management, said. “Having lived in Washington County and attended middle school in the very building where CCBC is now located, she has come full circle. Her knowledge of the area and professional background combined will champion and sustain the Washington County College Center, and I am elated to have her as part of our team.”
Angela Hamilton, vice president of student affairs, explained Eltschlager’s responsibilities.
“Kara is now responsible for overseeing daily operations and plays a crucial role in the student experience and supporting enrollment growth. As our Washington County link, she will share the CCBC vision in Washington County, serving as concierge, managing events, building community relationships, and implementing recruitment plans,” Hamilton said in the release.
The Washington County College Center is located at Intermediate Unit 1 in McMurray, the former location of Peters Township Middle School. The center soft-launched last fall, and this spring is offering more opportunities for high school students.
This includes dual enrollment programs so students can begin earning college credits, career-ready degree programs in education and criminal justice and online micro-credential courses in medical billing and coding.
“I am excited to be back home and contribute to the expansion of CCBC in Washington County,” said Eltschlager. “I look forward to crafting meaningful relationships within the community and providing opportunities for students of diverse ages. Our mission and enthusiasm are keenly directed toward the strategic implementation of a recruitment plan aimed to elevate awareness and establish a robust community college presence in Washington County for years to come.”
