Fire damages Forward Township marina

Firefighters from numerous departments were called to a blaze that heavily damaged McCrossin’s Landing marina in Forward Township early Friday morning.
Firefighters from numerous departments were called to a blaze that heavily damaged McCrossin’s Landing marina in Forward Township early Friday morning.
Crews were called shortly after 1 a.m. when a passing train crew noticed the structure fire at Edsel Lane and Liggett Avenue, which is directly across the Monongahela River from the city of Monongahela.
Gallatin Sunnyside volunteer firefighters were on scene for about five hours, and assisted in battling the blaze by departments from Forward Township, Jefferson Hills, Monongahela, Carroll Township, Valley Inn, Webster, North Belle Vernon and Monessen.
The Allegheny County fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze, which caused an unknown amount of damage to the marina and bar.
