At Bethany Lutheran Church, Bethel Park, a Diaper Drive is being held during the month of October to benefit South Hills Interfaith Movement (SHIM). Diapers, wipes and diaper cream may be dropped off to the church located at 5303 Madison Avenue (across from the Bethel Park Historical Society/Schoolhouse Arts Center). Donations will be accepted from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, or by calling 412-835-9221 to make an appointment.

At Bower Hill Community Church, 70 Moffett St., Mt. Lebanon, new Children’s Worship programming serves ages pre-K through high school. PreK (potty-trained) through second grade: children start in Sunday morning worship at 9:30 a.m. and are led to their classes after the children’s sermon. Third through fifth grade: children attend a Sunday school class designed to deepen their study of the Bible through interactive experiences. Meet in Room 203 at 9:30 a.m. Sixth through seventh grade: after Sunday service, older children are invited to the youth lounge (Room 113) for XP3 from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Grades 6 and up: Sunday Night Live is held every second and fourth Sunday of each month from 6 to 8 p.m.

• Pumpkins are available at the church for $5, with all proceeds benefiting the South West Bethel Synod of Ethiopia’s Literacy Center.

At Mt. Lebanon Evangelical Presbyterian Church, corner of Washington and Scott roads, Pastor Carolyn Poteet (interim pastor) preaches on Paul’s letter to the Ephesians this fall. There will be small group discussion groups that will further explore the “Spiritual Riches” in the book of Ephesians using a study guide. At Peters Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church (meeting at St. David’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 905 E. McMurray Road, Venetia), Bible Study, is held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Beinhauers Community Room, McMurray. The evening begins with a meal followed by a study of the book “Simple Church” by Thom S. At Ruthfred Lutheran Church, 3401 South Park Road, Bethel Park, GriefShare is offered from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, through Dec. 11. The 11-week grief support group is for those grieving the loss of a loved one. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required to assure ample supplies are ordered. At St. Anne Parish, Castle Shannon, the six-week Adult Education Series “Prayer: Finding Intimacy with God” will be offered from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. or 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Thursdays, through Nov. 16. At South Hills Assembly of God, Bethel Park, Divorce Care support group, for those going through separation or divorce, meets at 7 p.m. Wednesdays in the library of Hillcrest Christian Academy, 2500 Bethel Church Road.

• Grief Share, 10 a.m. to noon or 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, through Dec. 7, for those morning the loss of a loved one. This Bible-based support group and class consists of DVD teaching followed by discussion and sharing with others also on the grief journey. Join anytime and return for any missed classes. Registration fee of $15 includes a workbook.

• Children of Hillcrest Christian Academy will hold a Veterans Day program featuring a musical tribute to the armed forces at 9 a.m. Nov. 10.

At St. Bernard Parish, Mt. Lebanon, the Bible study session entitled: “James: Pearls for Wise Living” by Jeff Cavins and Sarah Christmyer, is held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, through Nov. 20, in Clairvaux Hall. It is geared toward anyone who has struggled to live a truly Christian life, and offers practical solutions for handling everyday circumstances. Fee is $25.
