Mark Minjock

Mark Minjock, son of Mike and Pam Minjock of Peters Township, was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army after completing basic training and Officer Candidate School in Fort Benning, Ga.

Minjock graduated from Waynesburg University in May with a degree in criminal justice and within a week started Army basic training followed immediately by OCS. In January, he will receive further training at Fort Lee in Virginia, after which he will receive his permanent assignment as part of the Army’s Transportation Corps.

A 2014 graduate of Peters Township High School, Minjock played football and ran track in high school and holds a number of track records at Waynesburg. However, his ambition was always to join the military and become an officer, which he was able to achieve when he was commissioned on Oct. 23.

Minjock plans to pursue a career in law enforcement after completing his military career.
