Following the completion of a second phase of renovations, the Mt. Lebanon History Center has reopened. The Historical Society of Mount Lebanon welcomed the public on Sept. 29 to see the improvements to the building’s main floor and check out the exhibit “Mt. Lebanon’s Fire Department: 100 Years of Serving the Community.” The building at 794 Washington Road served as the home for Dr. Donald McMillan and his family from the 1940s through early 1980s. The historical society moved into the ground floor in 2009, and the first phase of renovations remedied problems with the roof. Beginning Dec. 1, the historical society will host Senator John Heinz History Center’s traveling exhibit “We Can Do It! WWII” in its first appearance in the South Hills.
