Roundball Classic All-Star games set for April 20-21
The 2018 Roundball Classic All-Star Games will take place April 20-21 at Geneva College.
There will be three games on Friday starting at 6 p.m. with the East vs. West girls’ game followed at 7:30 p.m. by the boys’ battle. At 9 p.m., District 10 will clash with boys’ stars from Class 2A/City. On Saturday, more girls’ games will be played at 2 and 4 p.m. followed by boys’ at 6 and 8 p.m.
All of the ‘Best in the West’ senior basketball players from Western Pennsylvania will participate.
Kyle Meinert from Upper St. Clair and Nick Bomar from Bethel Park along with Andrew Clark and Zach Ford from Chartiers-Houston highlight the East boys’ roster that will play at 7:30 p.m. April 20 against the West, which features Josh Snell from Keystone Oaks.
Seton LaSalle’s George Mike and Jakob Richardson spearhead the Class 3A/1A roster that battles the Class 4A stars at 6 p.m. April 21. Vontae Mitchell from Keystone Oaks is on the Class 4A roster.
Mt. Lebanon’s Antonio Garofoli and Jason Fowlkes from Canon-McMillan compete on the Class 6A boys’ roster and will face the Class 5A all-stars at 8 p.m. April 21.
Scott Dibble, who guided Bishop Canevin to a WPIAL title, will coach the East girls at 6 p.m. April 20. In addition to his own players, Lauren Gamble and Kasey Koczorowski, Alayna Ziegler from Seton LaSalle will battle against the West all-stars.
Brionna Allen, who excelled for the Crusaders, has been assigned to the Class 3A/2A/1A all-star squad that will play the Quad-A and District 10 all-stars at 2 p.m. April 21. Alex Williamson from Chartiers-Houston is also on the team.
South Fayette’s Jordyn Caputo and Samantha Kosmacki along with Chartiers Valley’s Lauren Wagner will play for the Class 5A stars at 4 p.m. April 21. They will battle against the Class 6A team, which features: Kamryn Lach from Bethel Park; Alyssa Hyland from Mt. Lebanon; Kate Groninger from Upper St. Clair, Lillian Young from Peters Township and Izzy Allen from Canon-McMillan.
