Bushee named top rookie at Stony Brook
McKenzie Bushee of Mt. Lebanon has been named America East Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week.
The first-year forward recorded 10 points and 12 rebounds over two contests in first two collegiate career starts for the Stony Brook women’s basketball
The freshman tallied six points and five rebounds on Jan. 10 vs. Albany, then scored four points to go along with seven rebounds on Jan. 13 vs. Vermont.
The 6-1 forward is now averaging 4.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest for the Seawolves.
A WPIAL Player to Watch and an Almanac honorable mention all-star averaged 14.2 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.8 blocks last season on the Mt. Lebanon High School basketball team.
