Kness having success at Seton Hall

Seton Hall freshman Mia Kness of Venetia was named to the All-Big East golf team.
The Peters Township High School graduate also merited Big East Freshman of the Year honors. She is the first in Seton Hall women’s golf history to earn the distinction.
Kness led the Pirates with a 75.27 stroke average and ranked second in the conference. Additionally, she shattered the school record for stroke average by a freshman by more than two full strokes.
In the fall, she became only the sixth women’s golfer in school history to win an individual title when she claimed the championship of the Brown Bear Invitational.
Most recently, she tied for fourth place at the Big East Championship, and was named to the All-Tournament team. Plus, she was named Seton Hall’s Freshman Female Student-Athlete of the Year.
Before matriculating to Seton Hall, where she is a business major, Kness captured a PIAA championship. A two-time western regional champion and a WPIAL runner-up, Kness shot an even par 144 in the 2016 finals. The score ranks third best in PIAA history.
Kness is the first PIAA golf champion in school history. She is also the first four-time PIAA qualifier.
