Jack Evans rushed for three touchdowns.

Jekvonn Lewis also rushed for a 36-yard touchdown. He also added a 2-point conversion run.

The Blacks Hawks will host West Allegheny this Friday in their next conference clash.

Lebo beats CM

Bob Palko picked up his first victory as Mt. Lebanon head coach as the Blue Devils defeated Canon-McMillan, 49-21, in their Quad County Conference opener at Memorial Stadium in Canonsburg.

The Blue Devils play Butler at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 6 in their home opener.

Against the Big Macs, Joey Daniels to Sam LaSota and Evan Jones proved a lethal combination.

Daniels and LaSota hooked up for for 37- and 45-yard touchdowns. LaSota also blocked a punt to set up a Daniels-to-Jones 20-yard strike. Jones also caught a 25-yard touchdown from Daniels.

Mason Ventrone reeled off 81 yards for Lebo’s first score. Drew Vaughn had another 27-yard touchdown and Jack Sullivan capped the scoring when he returned an interception for a score.

SF beats Beaver

In other action, South Fayette defeated Beaver, 55-6.

Andrew Franklin scored on three runs in the first half in this Northwest East Conference game in Class 4A.

Franklin scored on runs of 8, 2 and 1 yards as the Lions (1-0, 1-1) built a 42-6 lead at intermission. He rushed for 65 yards on 12 carries.

Eli Snider returned two interceptions for touchdowns, 50 yards in the first half and 34 in the second. Naman Alemada completed 9 of 13 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns.

The Lions host New Castle in their home conference opener Sept. 6.

Other action

West Allegheny outlasted Chartiers Valley, 35-31.

After two road games, the Colts will host Armstrong Sept. 6.

The Allegheny Eight Conference games on tap for Sept. 6 are: Peters Township at Woodland Hills; Upper St. Clair hosting Baldwin and Bethel Park entertaining West Allegheny.
