After a disappointing overtime loss to rival Canon-McMillan, 3-2, in the WPIAL Quad-A boys’ soccer championship match, Mt. Lebanon began its quest for a state title.

The Blue Devils rebounded with a 3-1 triumph against Altoona in the opening round of action in the PIAA tournament Nov. 5

After a scoreless first half, Brady Napoleon put the Blue Devils on top four minutes into the second half.

Though the Mountain Lions tied the match on a free kick, Danny Simboro scored back-to-back goals to lift Lebo to victory.

While Lebo moved on to play Central Bucks West in the second round on Nov. 9, Canon-Mac saw its season end with a 1-0 loss to Palmyra at Greensburg Salem.

The Big Macs, who had won three District 7 titles in the last eight years, finished the season at 15-4-1 overall. Lebo is 16-5-1 overall
