PIHL announces rosters for all-star games

The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League’s all-star games will be held Jan. 26 at Robert Morris University’s Island Sports Center on Neville Island.

The games begin with the Class B contest at 12 p.m. The Class A game begins at 2 p.m. followed by Class AA at 4 p.m. The puck drops on the Class AAA match at 6 p.m.

Peters Township leads the list of all-stars with six selections. Drew and Eric Wilbert along with Mark Lehman anchor the forward line while Owen Barrett and Hunter Ferguson shore up the defense, which will also include Alex Wilbert between the pipes.

Canon-McMillan is also well-represented with Logan Ford, Josh Hrip and Daniel Garver at forward and Christian Trottier on defense. Goalie Mario Eafrati was also selected to the roster.

All four of Upper St. Clair’s high-scoring forwards made the list. They are seniors Devin Rohrich and Andrew Woomer as well as junior Mitchell Gainer and sophomore Colton Shiry.

Goalie Austin Martin and Feno Monaco earned all-star acclaim for Mt. Lebanon. Both are seniors.

Bethel Park will be represented on the Class AAA roster by junior forward Joey Wandrisco and senior Ryan McLinden.

The Black Hawks head coach Jim McVay was named to the all-star coaching staff as was Justin Glock. The Baldwin head coach is a Bethel Park product and is on the Class AA staff.

Baldwin’s all-stars include forwards Keith Reed and Dylan Belak, defenseman Paul Zmuda and goalie Tanner Cindrich.

South Fayette placed two players on the Class AA roster. Sophomore Alex Keller and junior Ethan Szymanski are both forwards.

Chartiers Valley’s Paul Bonetti and South Park’s Dan LaBarbera will lead the Class A coaching staff. Each coach has players that made the all-star roster.

Greg Kraemer and Luke Vaughn are forwards for the Colts. Tom Quirin and Sean Thurston are defensemen for the Eagles. South Park’s Shane Peremba and CV’s Logan Marnik will be the team’s goalies.

Thomas Jefferson’s Riley Holzer, who is the son of Upper St. Clair boys basketball coach Danny Holzer, earned an all-star roster spot as a forward. A team captain, the junior will also be joined by several of his Thomas Jefferson teammates, including Hunter Fairman, Eddie Pazo, Will O’Brien and Luke Ripepi.

Bishop Canevin’s Cameron Ropchock, Chase Evans and Evan Serakowski will compete in the Class B game.

Ringgold’s Justin Day, Evan Eberlein, Brad Budjos, Nathan Todd, Hunter Suarez and Chad DeGroen were also selected as all-stars.
