Peters Township capped another successful field hockey season by placing five players on the All-WPIAL team.

Seniors Cassidy King, Emma Devine and Adrianna Costanza garnered first-team Class AAA laurels. The trio also merited all-section status.

Sarah Rubican and Elena Traficante gained honorable mention status on the All-WPIAL roster.

While King, a midfielder, led the team in scoring, Devine, Costanza and Traficante anchored the defense, in addition to Rubican in goal.

The Indians were WPIAL runners-up this fall. After blanking North Allegheny 1-0 in the semifinals, Peters Township fell to Pine-Richland 3-0 in the Class AAA finals.

The title was the Rams’ third in four years. The Indians stopped that run by claiming the championship in 2018.

Mt. Lebanon also placed three players on the All-WPIAL and all-section teams in senior midfielder Hope Husak and juniors midfielder Lauren Ghil and defender Sophia Bovino.

The three led the Blue Devils to the WPIAL semifinals. Lebo was knocked out of the WPIAL playoffs with an 8-0 loss to Pine-Richland in the semifinals.

In Class AA, Upper St. Clair gained several spots on the All-WPIAL list, including honorable recognition for junior defender Jessie Christensen.

Seniors Victoria Cuba, Sydney Lisak and Kylee McCown earned first-team acclaim. Cuba and McCown excelled as forwards while Lisak dominated in the midfield for the Panthers.

USC had its championship season cut short when someone associated with the team contracted COVID-19. As a result, the Panthers could not play in the WPIAL final and Penn-Trafford was crowned the Class AA champions.
