South Fayette dominates Chairman Cup

South Fayette dominated the Jerry Roman Chairman Cup held at Cedarbrook Golf Course.
While Caroline McConnell captured medalist honors in the girls competition, the Lions finished first in the varsity boys team standings. McConnell fired an even par 71 from the white tees on the 5,500-yard Red Course. She led the Lions to a second-place showing in the girls team standings.
Other contributors for the SF girls were: Marissa Malosh, Ally Brennan, Megan Kuczinski and Giuliana Gaetano.
The Lions combined for a 347 score and were edged out of first place by Peters Township, which posted top scores of 76, 77, 83 and 99 by Allison Poon, Delaney Kern, Brooke Vowcheck and Ann Chang. Sophia Severns also took part in the event for the Indians.
In the varsity boys division, consistency paced South Fayette. James Cavrak led the way with a 76 while Trent D’Allesandro, Randy Fisher and Nate Chalovich all carded 77s. Jaden Mizenko followed with an 81. Nicky Savisky also competed for the Lions, who combined for a 388 total.
Peters Township took runner-up honors in the boys varsity match. The Indians compiled a 400 score while shooting from the blue tees on the 6,400-yard Gold Course.
Kyle McClintock led with a 76 while Austin Malley and Nick Weztel provided 80s. Ben Miller (81) and Colby Wilding (83) also added to the second-place score. Jeremy Poon also competed in the event.
Bethel Park took third in the boys standings with a 423 total and fifth in the girls varsity division with a 474.
The BP boys team included: Eddy Counihan, Jon Haddox, Frank Visnikar, Dom Nerone, Chan Yoon and Andrew Kvak.
The BP girls team featured: Riley Miller, Ally Wolling, Olivia Willig, Carley O’Mara and Abby York. In the junior varsity boys division, PT placed first with a 404 team total,
Nick Haught and Seth Bockman led the way with low scores of 76 and 77 respectively. Jake Langlois (82), Brendan Kern (84) and Ryan Patterson (85) followed.
BP took third with a 496 team total. Mason Devet-Raeder, Kelton Kramer, Matt Kopp and Max Radcliffe were the low scorers for the Black Hawks.
