Achieving athletes: Flohr helping Point Park

Eddie Flohr scored two buckets down the stretch and helped Point Park defeat Ohio Christian University 70-66 in a Jan. 12 NAIA men’s basketball game.
The junior guard buried a three-pointer and then a bucket as the Pioneers edged ahead 66-65 at the 2:57 mark. It was the last field goal for the Pioneers as they capped the win with a 4-for-4 showing from the line.
Flohr came to Point Park after a brief stint at West Virginia Wesleyan and a successful scholastic career at Chartiers Valley.
At CV, Flohr was a two-sport standout, winning WPIAL championships in both basketball and baseball.
Additionally, he was a 1,000-point scorer. The Almanac’s basketball MVP in 2016 ranks 15th in school scoring history.
The Pioneers resume play Jan. 27 against Carlow University.
